A $6 billion hack of Binance, with rumors of North Korean involvement, moved bitcoin only about 5%. Jordi Visser, the former Weiss Multi-Strategy CIO who now writes VisserLabs, told The Pomp Podcast that the muted reaction is a sign the market has matured, not that it has stopped paying attention.
Ten years ago a hack that size would have been a crisis for the whole industry. Jordi treats it as one more entry in a long run of AI-enabled attacks on businesses of every kind.
"This is, unfortunately, a story I've heard multiple times, not of this size, but the amount of hackings that are going on from AI... this is the reality of the world we're going to live in with artificial intelligence for a long, long time." — Jordi Visser
Jordi spent the week before the recording buying AI stocks into the selloff, three or four times. He has argued for years that bitcoin is a bet on what AI does to government debt and central banks, not on any one company's AI plans.

1. A $6B Hack, a 5% Drop
Anthony Pompliano, who hosts The Pomp Podcast, opened on the Binance hack. Binance pledged to cover user losses, and bitcoin sold off only modestly.
Anthony said a hack this size would once have caused a far bigger selloff
"If this had happened 10 years ago in the crypto industry, Bitcoin would have sold off 20 to 40%... It sold off 5%. That actually seems in a weird way bullish that you could have a $6 billion hack." — Anthony Pompliano
Jordi did not treat the hack as a crypto problem alone. In his telling, AI has made attacks like this more common across all businesses, and they will keep coming.
