Chamath Palihapitiya said Bitcoin is going to zero because of quantum computing. Jordi Visser, a macro investor and author of the VisserLabs Substack, told Anthony Pompliano on The Pomp Podcast that he does not buy it.
Much of the worry treats quantum as a near-term threat to Bitcoin's cryptography. Jordi called it a hardware problem, citing cryptographer Adam Back's estimate of 20 to 40 years before quantum poses a real threat.
"I'm not worried. But I can tell you my subscribers are."
Jordi invests across macro markets, writes about AI, crypto and markets for his Substack's subscribers, and says his own company already runs more AI agents than it employs people.

1. Chamath's Call Is for Clicks
Anthony opened by asking Jordi whether he agreed with Chamath Palihapitiya that Bitcoin is going to zero. Jordi said he does not, though his readers took the claim seriously.
Chamath's quantum warning was built to travel, not to hold up as analysis
"Chamath is a podcast person for sure. So viral takes, especially when he's on another show, not his own show, become important to his show and his life." — Jordi Visser
Jordi also tied the call to a Bitcoin allocation Chamath had missed. He conceded that Chamath's lack of formal credentials in cryptography does not on its own make him wrong. The bigger problem with the claim, Jordi said, is the timeline.
